Across the field in front of you is a brown bear dress like some middle eastern merchant. This is Moneybags. Talk to him and he will tell you to collect 500 gems and he will open his shop.
to the left of his shop you will see a locked gate. continue further and you will see a ledge you cannot get up and the door to the Professor's Lab which is now shut tight. On the other side of this area you will see another shut door and a dark cave with green vines that attack when you approach.
Collecting 500 gems should not be too hard. There are total of 550 gem in the area. When have them got talk to Moneybags and he will open his shop and tell you to buy a "lock pick". It will be the only thing you can buy.
Leave the shop and go to the locked gate. Sparx will talk to you and then unlock the gate for you. Enter the cave and and Zoe will talk to you about how she saves your progress by zapping you.
