Short Cut to Honey Slide - From the Start look right and there should be a whirlwind, take this whirlwind up to a cave. Go through the cave. At the end of the cave glide to the grassy ledge. Then jump left on to a floating honeycomb platform, to the flower, another floating platform and a 3rd floating platform with a whirlwind. The whirlwind takes you to another grassy ledge. Turn around to see a cave with a portal inside. Glide to the cave and there you are.

You need to enter the portal inside the hollow tree near where you caught the thief.
