Bug alert Game Freezes - To help with game freezes try setting the Disc Speed to fast. This is only supposed to affect PS1 games but for some reason it seems to help. I have had 2 freezes without it and none with it. It resets back to Standard when you reset the PS2 so you will have to set it to Fast before you play each time.Changing Disc speed:
- Start up the PS2 without a disc in.
- when you get the first menu press Triangle.
- Select PlayStation Driver and press Triangle.
- It should now be on Disc Speed, press X
- Select Fast and press X
- Press circle a few time to get back to the main menu and insert the disc.
Saving - Spyro:ETD will only make one save file no matter how much space is on the card. Within that save file is a limited number of game saves, 4 for the PS2 version and Unfortunately only 2 for the GameCube version. The only way to get more saves is to use another card.
You can choose to save to a different block within the file while playing the game.
You can play the game without a memory card but I wouldn't recommend it unless you intend to play until you finish it.
This game will autosave each time you go to a different challenge area, or level if you have a memory card.
Life Saver, Exit Level Trick - If you are falling to your death you can press START and select Exit Level. You will be sent back to the home world without loosing a life.
Locked Chests - While in previous Spyros lock Chests contained gems, in Enter the Dragonfly they each contain a Dragonfly.
Wing Shield
GCN:hold L and R
PS2:hold L2 and R2
You can use it deflect some projectile weapons back at the enemy. Only necessary in Thieves' Den but fun to use in other levels.
Use analog - Though this game let's you use the D-pad it is often better to use analog.
